Crack Filling and Windshield Repair
After identifying the damaged area that is in need of repair, we use a specialized tool to scrape out any loose pieces of glass or dirt out of your chip. We use alternating cycles of pressure and suction to inject our specialized resin into the defect while using a vacuum to make sure we remove any air bubbles from the area.
We repeat this process until the area is filled and the damage is completely repaired We then apply a finishing film over the repaired area and then put under concentrated ultra violet light to finish off the repair process. Excess resin is removed and your windshield is clean thoroughly. When we are done your windshield looks like new and no one ever has to know that any work was ever done.

Our attention to detail and standard of excellence ensures that Academy Auto Collision work meets or exceeds all manufacturers safety standards. Your vehicle’s overall safety is our top priority through every stage of the replacement process. We use tools to make sure that all necessary precautions are taken at all times.
We start by removing external trim or anything that needs to be protected throughout the process. We use special tools we carefully remove the former seal from your vehicle. Once the damaged windshield is removed we clean the original adhesive from the vehicle’s metal frame. Excess urethane is removed using a single edge blade.
A glass activator is then applied on the new windshield before it is installed, the purpose of this is to seal and bond the glass to the new urethane adhesive. We then apply heated urethane to the new windshield. The metal frame is cleaned and primed to prevent rust or other damage. Heated urethane is applied to the dried primer and a new windshield is set in. We carefully press the windshield into place and use a special cloth to remove any excess adhesive.
We allow for the urethane to dry safely and then return the wipers and rear view mirror to their original positions. Before you leave you are given a full run down of the service and any special instructions that we may have for you.
